ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
v Contact prospective customers/sponsors to sell radio sponsorship packages for broadcasting inclusive of sponsorship spots, website, digital and streaming packages, events and non-traditional revenue. Customers/sponsors include but not limited to businesses, government agencies, festivals, markets, events and food producers in Byron Shire and beyond.
v Spend at least 50% of work time engaging in sales and solicitations outside of the office. Responsible for managing sales and collection of sold accounts.
v Maintain account lists while soliciting new business.
v Develop and maintain solid working relationships within all station departments including volunteers and other contractors.
v Prepare promotional plans, sales literature, and sponsorship proposals.
v Develop and maintain relationships with customers/sponsors by providing top quality service.
v Manage client relationships and investigate and resolve client concerns.
v Understanding of client needs, on strategy ideas, innovation, integration and engagement.
v Communicate with other departments to assure quality service in placing orders and arranging promotional events.
v Attend weekly sales meetings, training sessions when required.
v Performs all other tasks perceived, assigned, and/or required that contribute to the smooth running of the department and to the achievement of departmental and station goals.
QUALIFICATIONSHigh school graduate; university preferred. Minimum 2 years’ experience in sales/marketing; previous radio sales experience preferred; must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel. Requires valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and dependable transportation. Must possess excellent organisational/time management skills. Must be self-motivated, self-disciplined, have a positive attitude and be an effective communicator.
